Next Steps

When you have completed your psychotherapy process with me you will have become your own ‘therapist’. This enduring ability will help maintain your mental wellness in all emotional aspects of your life, for the rest of your life.

How would we proceed?

To make an initial appointment with me you don’t need a referral from your GP or other health professional. You can contact me directly via the routes below using email or phone. When we speak I might ask you a little about why you are seeking a psychotherapist if this isn’t already apparent and, if appropriate, we will arrange a suitable time for us to meet. I work Monday to Friday and have morning, afternoon and evening sessions available. Usually I use the first three sessions or so to get a sense of what you are needing or looking for and whether we both want to work together – whether we are a good fit.

The length of time people attend therapy and the frequency (more than once a week) depends on your particular situation. Sometimes people have something quite specific that takes a few sessions, while others have something that requires more time to resolve.

The length of time depends on what you want to do and you can decide this from the beginning or as we go along. These aspects will be discussed during the first few sessions.

My fees work on a sliding scale depending on your personal circumstances. There is partial funding through WINZ for my services if you are a beneficiary. My fee scale for individuals is $90 – $130.00 for a 55 minute session. For couples my fees are $110.00 – $160.00 for a 55 minute session (sometimes it is useful for sessions to be up to an hour and a half for couples). My fee for families depends on the duration of the session time and how many members need to be involved.

It is important to add that every step of your psychotherapy process is negotiated between you and I. This is so that you have a sense of being fully involved with the help you are getting and that we are both equally invested in finding out what it is that you are needing.

I look forward to speaking with you to discuss what has been on your mind.
